Rustic Autumn Tablescape

While we had guests staying, we decided to invite another couple over that our guests knew for a dinner party. I decided to do the tablescape in a rustic theme with leaves and pine cones as the focus.  I wanted an Autumn look without it being too holiday looking.

I began with an ecru tablecloth to set off the rust color chargers. Then white china plates were set on top.

I have admired these leaf plates for a while now, and just had to break down and get six when I got an email coupon for 15% off. The pattern is called Asheville Leaves, gorgeous aren’t they?  I just love these colors.

Silverplate was polished and put on new napkins I just found (on sale of course). Don’t you love their color? It is called Nutmeg Spice, and is perfect for the settings.  I did a simple fold this time.

Wine glasses finished off the place settings. Once dinner was served, I realized that I forgot to add the little individual salt and pepper shakers I usually use. DH was kind enough to go grab them from the pub table.

Moving on to the centerpiece, once again I created a low display to make conversation easy. I began by placing the Pine Cone Candle Wreath, in the center of the table.  I put additional wood slices on either end and added faux leaf candle rings on them. Instead of candles, I placed a pine cone inside each autumn leaf and pumpkin candle ring.

A crackle glass votive holder in the center pine cone wreath.  I wove the autumn leaf garlands around the wood slices, adding pine cones and pumpkins.

I added more pine cones around the autumn leaf garlands.

I added two more crackle glass votives, three small candles made a lovely glow for dinner.

Coffee cups for after dinner were added. We had a wonderful pumpkin dessert I’ll share soon.

Yes, those are place cards you see. I just did quick stamps on both sides and wrote the names.  Continuing the rustic theme, I used the pine cone and acorn stamps on the front.

It was a lovely meal, good friends and good conversation relaxing over a meal.

  4. Good Morning Carole! Your table setting is gorgeous! I do think that your leaf plates are lovely and work so perfectly with this time of year. Along with your pinecones and garland as the centerpiece every thing just perfectly goes together and creates a beautiful table setting! Thank you for sharing and I am sure your guests enjoyed it far more that I do only because they actually get to touch it and really admire it while using it. Have a fantastic creative day!

  10. I’ve been reading your posts for months now, and you influenced me to start using placemats when we ate on the back porch. That’s a step in the right direction. The fact that I haven’t done more is no reflection on your excellent posts. I’m just highly resistant, maybe even immune. I’ll keep reading and hoping for some miraculous change in me.
